The Weinberg Mediation Center. Working Together

Jolie Weinberg

Jolie WeinbergMs. Weinberg graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Economics and received her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.

Jolie has worked throughout the state of Maryland as a court ordered mediator and through private referrals with very high rates of settlement.

She recently completed a 40 hour family law training with Gregory Firestone, Ph.D. (My Florida Mediator) and was subsequently Certified as a Family Law Mediator through the Supreme Court of Florida.

Since Covid, mediations have become predominantly virtual allowing for clients to have more flexibility.  Parties save fees and costs for travel time and less time lost from work. The use of breakout rooms are helpful, if needed, for a more comfort setting with less stress on the parties.

Jolie has been a proponent of alternative dispute options since 1992 when she was trained as a mediator. She is also collaboratively trained and  started chapters in Maryland. Jolie was past chair of the State Collaborative practice group and she is the past chair of the Maryland State Bar’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Council.

Jolie strongly believes that at the end of the day, the vast majority of family law cases settle, it is just a question of where in the process the parties are able to work out the issues.

Jolie Weinberg is amazing. Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable about the law, she is kind and cares about families. I went through a very difficult divorce after 31 years of marriage. Jolie, held my hand through it all. Her advice was excellent and I feel that she Enright to make it as easy as possible on me. She suggested mediation because it’s much less money than going to court.

Jolie was wonderful to work with! Jolie was so helpful and responsive. She always answered my questions promptly and worked with me to keep the process moving forward. She is very knowledgable and personable. Highly recommend!

Ms. Weinberg helped me through my divorce mediation and settlement. I was extremely pleased with the final outcome. She gave me sensible advice, and was able to talk through a variety of possibilities and scenarios, some that we wanted to happen, and others that we wanted to avoid. She was factual and task-oriented when that was needed, and was sensitive and supportive when that was in order. And she is tough. My ex’s attorney was a tough negotiator, and Ms. Weinberg was rock-solid.

Solid and Professional Divorce Representative. I conducted detailed research and interviewed several lawyers before selecting Ms. Weinberg. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a respected and knowledgeable attorney that is both tough and a proven force in handling divorce proceedings. She kept the ball rolling and negotiated an outcome that left me very satisfied! If you’re looking for the best, look her up!

Robert Weinberg

Robert WeinbergRobert Weinberg was a practicing attorney for over thirty years concentrating in civil litigation matters including personal injury and workers compensation cases. During the course of his career, Mr. Weinberg tried hundreds of cases before juries, judges and Administrative law judges in courtrooms through the state of Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia and Pennsylvania. As a plaintiff’s attorney, Mr. Weinberg also resolved dozens of cases through mediation and binding arbitration with several matters in excess of seven figures. He participated in alternative dispute resolutions involving private attorneys, sitting and retired judges and court appointed counsel. Mr. Weinberg received his mediation training in 2018 and has been practicing as a mediator for the last 5 years. He has handled numerous matters as a court appointed mediator in disputes dealing with personal injury, working compensation, insurance disputes, subrogation claims, employment matters and breach of contract. Mr. Weinberg graduated from Emory University with a degree in Political Science and received his law degree from Emory University School of law in Atlanta, Georgia. Robert began his career as a prosecutor in the District of Columbia where he tried numerous offenses. Robert has worked as a mediator throughout the state of Maryland handling all types of civil matters. Mr. Weinberg does not believe in a one size fits all approach to mediation. His style is best described as adaptive depending on the personalities of the parties and the nature of the dispute. He is not opposed to taking a strong hand when needed. This has translated into a high degree of success in getting cases settled even when the litigants began the session far apart.

Robert helped settle my workers compensation appeal despite my attorney having withdrawn from my case just prior to mediation. He took the time to carefully explain my legal rights and the potential consequences should I have chosen to proceed pro se.

Robert did a fantastic job settling a serious personal injury case for over $700,000. The parties were very far apart at the start of the case but his persistence led to an excellent result after a long session.
